A Sydney man has been charged after allegedly creating an antisemitic website featuring Nazi symbols and violent extremist videos.
Australian Federal Police (AFP) were tipped off about the website and began an investigation in July this year.
It is alleged investigators found a number of articles displaying offensive content and linked the website’s creation to a man, 60, from Sydney’s south.
The National Security Investigations (NSI) team and NSW Police raided a property in Jannali, in southern Sydney, where they examined electronic devices found at the home on Tuesday.
AFP Commissioner Krissy Barrett announced in October last year that the team was established to target groups and individuals who caused high levels of harm to Australia’s cohesion, including those who target the Jewish community.
The man was charged with public display of prohibited hate symbols and publishing violent extremist material.
He was served with a weapons and firearms prohibition order by police and was refused bail in the NSW Bail Division Court on Tuesday.
