In the aftermath of a dropped two-point conversion catch that doomed his team's season, Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews has broken his silence after not speaking to the media in the aftermath of last Sunday's AFC Divisional round game against the Buffalo Bills.

'It's impossible to adequately express how I feel,' Andrews said in a post to his Instagram account on Thursday.

'I'm absolutely gutted by what happened on Sunday. I'm devastated for my teammates, my coaches and Ravens fans.

'I pour every ounce of my being into playing at the highest level possible, because I love my team and the game of football like nothing else.

'That is why it's taken me until now to collect my thoughts and address this publicly. Even though the shock and disappointment are unlike anything I've ever felt before, I refuse to let the situation define me.

'I promise that this adversity will only make me stronger and fuel us as we move forward.

Andrews hasn't spoken publicly since this dropped two-point conversion on Sunday v. Buffalo

'I thank everyone who has shown me and our team genuine support these past several days. Despite the negativity, I've seen heartfelt love and encouragement, including from those who have generously donated to the Breakthrough T1D organization.

'Even when the moment seems darkest, perspective can reveal that there's still a lot of light in this world. I'm now going to do my part to bounce back and contribute to it. #GodBless.'

Andrews made two crucial mistakes in the second half of Sunday's heavyweight bout between Baltimore and Buffalo.

First, he caught a pass from quarterback Lamar Jackson with under nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, then ran with the ball before Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard forced a fumble that Buffalo recovered.

The Bills then proceeded to kill more clock on an 11 play, 52 yard drive that lasted over five minutes and ended with a Buffalo field goal to make their lead 27-19.

It forced Jackson, Andrews, and the rest of the Ravens offense to put up a crucial final drive that had to end in a touchdown and a two-point conversion to force overtime.

Jackson delivered - completing passes to receiver Rashod Bateman, Tylan Wallace, and Andrews to find themselves on the Bills 24-yard-line.

Jackson, one of the MVP front-runners, uncorked a pass to tight end Isaiah Likely that went into the end zone for a Ravens touchdown.

Before the drop, Andrews gave up this fumble that let the Bills kick a crucial field goal

Ravens coach John Harbaugh (L) and QB Lamar Jackson (R) said Andrews wasn't to blame

Needing to convert the two-point try, Jackson dropped back to pass and rolled right -tossing the ball to a backpedaling Andrews. The veteran tight end bobbled the ball and couldn't hold on - with it falling incomplete to the turf.

Baltimore couldn't recover the onside kick and Buffalo ran out the rest of the clock to win the game 27-25.

After the drop, social media quickly blamed Andrews for the defeat - sending him death threats and taunting him.

In the days that followed, multiple people - including Jackson and Ravens head coach John Harbaugh - defended the three-time Pro-Bowler.

Additionally, multiple fans of the Bills donated to Breakthrough T1D - a charity Andrews supports that works to help those with type-one diabetes.

In addition to his three Pro Bowl nods, Andrews is a former first-team All-Pro selection.
