Mark Zuckerberg has been ruthlessly mocked for his unique clothing choice as he donned a baggy black T-shirt with a classic Latin phrase on it.

The Facebook CEO took to the stage at Meta Connect 2024 in a custom shirt with the words 'AUT ZUCK AUT NIHIL' - a play on the Latin expression 'Aut Caesar, Aut Nihil,' - which translates to 'Either a Caesar or nothing.'

Zuckerberg, 40, kicked off the developer conference on Wednesday with a keynote speech as he announced the company's new AI products, including the highly anticipated Orion AR glasses.

The tech tycoon was seen sporting the 'first fully functioning prototype' of 'the most advanced glasses the world has ever seen,' he said.

Users quickly flocked to the images of him sporting the unique T-shirt as one said: 'I know a modern Caesar when I see one.'

'Cool guy huh,' wrote another.

'When I thought he was becoming cool,' a commenter said.

Someone else said: 'Wow, really going for the self love on that one.. ya think.'

'I'll take the nothing thanks,' wrote another.

One user said Zuckerberg 'overdid it' with the new T-shirt, adding: 'As if wearing an oversized tee wasn't it, that statement on that tee is just overdoing it. All he's doing right now is pump more AI trash on Instagram.'

He recently started to design some of his own clothes alongside American fashion designer Mike Amiri.

At the Acquired podcasting recording this month, Zuckerberg rocked another custom T-shirt.

'I started working with people to design some of my own clothes,' he explained.

'I've kind of started working on this series of shirts with some of my favorite classical sayings on them,' he continued.

Pointing to his oversized black tee, Zuckerberg then said, 'So this one is "patha mathos" - learning through suffering.'

The father-of-three embraced Latin-inspired clothing during his 40th birthday party as well.

In May, the Facebook founder shared rare photos of his family and friends at the party on Instagram as he wore yet another black shirt that said 'Carthago delenda est,' which means, 'Carthage must be destroyed,' a reference to the ancient rivalry between the cities of Rome and Carthage.

During the festivities, his wife Priscilla Chan 'recreated a bunch of places' Zuckerberg 'lived in the early days.'

One of the pictures showed him sitting next to former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates in a miniature version of the Harvard dorm where the Meta billionaire created the popular social media app.

Another image showed Zuckerberg with two of his three daughters Maxima, eight, and August, six, as he gave them a tour around the recreation of his childhood bedroom where he learned to code.

The notoriously frugal tech CEO has recently amped up his spending habits and personal style with a major makeover.

Earlier this month, Zuckerberg was spotted wearing a De Bethune DB25 Starry Varius wristwatch during a podcast taping in San Francisco.

According to Yahoo, the timepiece may be worth upwards of $95,000.

The flashy purchase seemed to be inspired by a lavish wedding that Zuckerberg and Chen attended for Anant Ambani, the son of the Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani.

A clip from the nuptials shows Zuckerberg admiring the watch, before saying, 'You know, I never really wanted to get a watch, but after seeing that, I was like, you know, "Watches are cool."'

In the late 2010s, Zuckerberg was public enemy number one when he was grilled in Congress about selling data and personal information of up to 87 million users to companies.

He was pale, sick-looking and oftentimes awkward, donning a simple T-shirt and jeans with most of his social media photos being just of him and his family.

His new look - which consists of designer duds, longer, curly hair and a slight tan - is certainly a change from before.

Zuckerberg has been working hard in the gym to achieve a buff and muscular physique

While he's always had a very simple and casual style, the Meta mogul has recently taken to wearing trendy chains around his neck.

He's also started to design some of his own clothes alongside American fashion designer Mike Amiri.

At the Acquired podcasting recording this month, Zuckerberg rocked one of his own custom T-shirts.

In addition to making his own fits, the entrepreneur has also started to embrace designer brands.

In June, he rocked a Balmain T-shirt worth $1,150 while on vacation with his wife and a group of their friends in Ibiza.

The group spent time on Zuckerberg's mega-yacht, which is worth around $300million.

Fans have also noticed recently that the social media kingpin is in better shape than ever.

He's been working hard in the gym and training with MMA fighters, which has given him a considerably buff and muscular physique.

Last month, the 40-year-old unveiled a bizarre statue of his wife.

He shared a photo of the monument, which appeared to be made of oxidized green copper and steel, on social media.

'Bringing back the Roman tradition of making sculptures of your wife,' he wrote.

Priscilla, 39, was snapped sipping a hot drink in front of the new statue, which was created by artist Daniel Arsham.

Zuckerberg did not give any indication as to what had inspired the act of love, but friends and followers were quick to hail the gesture.

TV star Gayle King replied: 'Wow! Is there a backstory here or just Tuesday night at your house?? PS. Do you have an older brother who is black I could meet... asking for a friend.'

Liz Kelley wrote: 'Husbands everywhere are shaking.'

Yung Vec said: 'this is the most billionaire thing to do ever.'

And a user joked: 'Was literally about to get the same thing for my wife. Now I have to pivot.'
