Martha Stewart left fans shocked by her 'rare' pronunciation of a particular word when a throwback cooking video of hers was shared on social media recently.
On Sunday, the official Instagram page for the homemaking expert shared another Christmas related recipe and posted old footage of her preparing a duck to be roasted in the oven.
It's unsure when exactly the video was filmed but Martha - who recently admitted she doesn't know how to check her DMs - certainly looks youthful and is dressed in a checked khaki green shirt and an apron as she shows off her kitchen skills yet again.
Addressing her viewers, Martha said: 'Traditional Christmas dinners can be roast beef, roast goose, or baked ham, but let's try something different.
'I love roasted duckling and it's especially good if you marinate the duckling first,' she continued, before listing the ingredients of garlic, fresh ginger, hot sesame oil, honey, soy sauce, white wine, and hoisin sauce.
'Mix it all together and your marinade is done,' she added, before saying: 'Pour the marinade over the bird,' but people couldn't believe how she was pronouncing the word 'marinade.'
'Have I been saying marinade wrong my whole life!?' one person asked in the comments section.
Another person replied and explained: 'It’s a French word, we say it like here in France. That being said it’s rare to hear it said that way in English.'

A different Instagram user added: 'Absolutely correct, her pronunciation is really nice actually, don't you think so too?'
A fourth person pointed out: 'it’s funny that she says, you want to marinate, the normal way, but then says marinade the French way.'
Someone else poked fun at her accent and commented: 'Lol Marinaaaade and Baked Haam.'
A different follower admitted: 'Not making this just bc of how you pronounced marinade,' and another said: 'Omg vintage Martha! I’m OBSESSED.'
Someone else pointed out: 'Her accent is definitely not from Nutley, NJ,' referring to where Martha grew up.
Another person commented: 'I was already skeptical because you never eat the food you make, but now you had to call it “merrinod”...'
Other people were shocked that Martha was cooking a duckling.
'Martha I love you and you look and sound like an angel here until you said roasted duckling and my Disney emotions came into play,' one person said.

The video comes just weeks after Martha made a rather surprising admission about her Christmas trees.
The mother-of-one took to TalkShopLive during this year's Black Friday to show off recipes and savings deals from her own Martha Stewart line.
But during the session, she also gave an insight into what her holiday season looks like while taking some fan questions - including from one person who asked how many trees she would be decorating this year.
'I like to have at least two trees per room,' Martha admitted.
'So the porch gets two, the green room gets four, the hallway gets one, and outside, lots of them outside, too,' the star continued.
And, perhaps to no one's surprise, Stewart also admitted during the livestream that she has a 'vast collection' of holiday decorations and ornaments.
'Well, I start looking around, I go to specialty holiday stores that pop up here and there, and I add to my collection,' she said.
'I have a vast collection of holiday ornaments, as you can imagine, and I sometimes feel like I'm crazy to buy anything else, but I do, every year,' Martha added.
