CV NEWS FEED // The first four episodes of a docudrama series detailing the lives of eight saints will be released in partnership with Fox Nation on November 17, providing a way to celebrate the month that begins with the Feast of All Saints.
Titled “Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints,” the docuseries is hosted, narrated and executive produced by the Catholic filmmaker himself. Scorese has directed several well-known films, including “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
Each hour-long episode will focus on the life of one saint, including St. Joan of Arc, St. Francis of Assisi, St. John the Baptist, St. Thomas Becket, St. Mary Magdalene, St. Moses the Black, St. Sebastian, and St. Maximillian Kolbe.
In a statement, Scorsese said that the docuseries provides a way to tell the stories of the unique personal struggles and lives of eight “very different men and women.”
“I’ve lived with the stories of the saints for most of my life, thinking about their words and actions, imagining the worlds they inhabited, the choices they faced, the examples they set,” he said.
He later added, “I’m so excited that this project is underway, and that I’m working with so many trusted and talented collaborators.”
According to the New York Times, Rick Yorn, Leonardo DiCaprio’s manager and a producer on several of Scorsese’s previous films, is one of the series’ executive producers. Fox News stated in a news release that the series was written by Kent Jones, one of Scorsese’s frequent collaborators, and directed by filmmaker and actress Elizabeth Chomko.
The first four episodes will be released on Fox Nation on November 17, with the final four coming out in May 2025.
