Baltimore residents have been left horrified after a truck spilled 6,000 gallons of rancid milk across the freeway in disgusting scenes.
The tractor trailer overturned on the I-695 close to Exit 24 on the outskirts of the city early Saturday, according to the Maryland Department of the Environment.
'No injuries, but expect some sour smells!' the department said in an X post detailing the incident alongside several photographs of the carnage.
The tractor trailer crashed around 1am on Saturday, spilling the milk onto the roadway before it dribbled down a nearby creek.
Responding crews recovered 75 gallons of diesel fuel from the vehicle, the Maryland Department of the Environment said.
Images from the scene show the flipped vehicle smashed against a barrier. The top cylinder container carrying the milk appeared to have detached amid the crash.
A specialized vacuum truck was even deployed to hoover up the dairy deluge, according to local reports. It's unclear what caused the crash.
The Baltimore County Fire Department warned locals to brace for a gross stench to permeate the air around the city in the coming days as the milk sours in the sun.

It comes after a delivery driver accidentally spilled several gallons of mayonnaise across a road in central London, England, in January.
The incident happened after workers transporting five-liter tubs of the condiment inadvertently knocked some over.
