A Maryland mother of a newborn daughter died two days after she was thrown from a golf cart near a members-only golf course over the weekend, according to authorities.

Mary Beth Blasetti, 32, was riding as a passenger with another woman driving in Maid Marion Hill Saturday when the golf cart hit a dip and ejected her from the vehicle, police said, according to WJZ News.

The new mom was airlifted to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on Monday.

An investigation has been launched into the crash, but the Anne Arundel County Police Department said it appears to be an accident.

“This is an extremely tragic, unfortunate situation,” department spokesperson Justin Mulcahy said, according to the station.

“Our hearts go out to everyone impacted and we’re going to continue investigating it with the State’s Attorney’s Office just to determine what exactly happened here.”

Blasetti was remembered as a caring wife and mother to her 2-month-old daughter. She and her husband also recently purchased their first home together in Annapolis.

“Mary Beth brought joy to so many and had a wide community of friends and family who are devastated by her sudden passing,” friends wrote in a GoFundMe post.
