About damn time!

I’m gonna keep it a bean with y’all, and this is probably what a lot of y’all are thinking too: the opening weekend of this year’s March Madness was incredibly boring. It was blowout after blowout, and nothing was really interesting.

But then Sunday came, where Maryland and Colorado State would completely switch things up with a remarkable buzzer-beater finish. And with this game being near the end of the weekend, you couldn’t help but to say “it’s about time.” (RELATED: ‘Thank You For Your Service’: Tennessee’s Bruce Pearl Praises Scott Jennings For Making CNN Watchable)

I mean, seriously, who doesn’t want to see a thriller?

And that’s exactly what this game was, with it originally looking like the Rams were going to pull an upset over the No. 4 seed having a 64-59 lead with 4:31 left on the clock. However, the Terrapins stayed in the game and scrapped.

Going back and forth until the last tick, CSU guard Jalen Lake ended up knocking down a three-pointer with only 6.1 seconds left in the contest, and it appeared things were over with the Rams holding a 71-70 advantage.

When Maryland got into a huddle after the play, head coach Kevin Willard asked which player wanted to have the ball for a potential miracle win. It was center Derik Queen who stepped up to the plate, and he did it in style.

“Give me the motherf*cking ball,” responded Queen.

And the rest, as they say, is history.
