Masked gunman shoots boy, 17, in NYC public-housing building

A masked gunman shot a 17-year-old boy in a Brooklyn NYCHA building Tuesday, cops said. 

The teen was blasted in the lower back around 2:20 p.m. in a building on Menahan Street near Central Avenue in Bushwick, part of the Hope Gardens development, police said.

The boy was taken by EMS workers to the Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

Witnesses told police the male shooter was last seen wearing all black clothing and a black face mask, authorities said. 

The motive for the daytime violence was under investigation by the evening. It remained unclear whether the teen knew the suspect. 

No arrests have been made.
