One of Los Angeles' swankiest neighborhoods, Pacific Palisades has long been home to an eclectic crowd that includes not only A-list stars but also tech tycoons, hot shot lawyers and finance heavy-hitters.
But in the wake of the devastating Palisades Fire that has already ravaged 23,707 acres – an area larger than Manhattan – many of the neighborhood's 80,000 residents now face the prospect of having no home to return to.
For many well-known names, among them Anna Faris, Leighton Meester, Ricki Lake and Heidi Montag, that nightmare has become a reality.
But it isn't just A-listers whose mansions have been razed: 29-year-old tech tyro Austin Russell's $125m mansion, that had a starring role in TV mega-hit Succession is gone along with more modest multi-million-dollar homes belonging to hedge fund bosses, tech bosses and architects among others.
All were destroyed in the enormous blaze which has also caused the deaths of at least eight people, destroyed 604 buildings and is still only 14 percent contained.
With much of the famously leafy area now reduced to rubble, DailyMail.com has rounded up some of the losses.
HEDGE FUND BOSS'S BOLTHOLE
One of the more lavish properties to succumb to the Palisades Fire, 641 Alma Real Drive was classic LA: a pink-tinged Spanish-style home in one of Pacific Palisades' leafiest neighborhoods.
Owned by hedge fund boss Jerry Cudzil, 49, the five-bedroom house – which was estimated to be worth $10.3million – is now a tangled mess of incinerated masonry.
Prior to last week's terrifying wildfires, the property had boasted lush gardens complete with a large pool and a deck with some ocean views.
Inside, the house had a chef's kitchen as well as a master suite complete with its own sitting room and deck.

THE LEVELED LA LANDMARK
One of the most famous homes in Pacific Palisades, 820 Chautauqua Boulevard was better known as the 'Bridges House' in honor of the architect who designed it.
Although officially on Chautauqua Boulevard, the home was better seen from the other side on Sunset Boulevard where it towered 100ft above the road courtesy of a trio of massive poured concrete pillars.
The home was designed by its owner, University of Southern California professor emeritus Robert Bridges who moved in in 1991 with his wife Janelle and their three children.
He had spent six years building the house which, in a 2014 interview with the New York Times, he said was 'incredibly risky'. He added: 'We were constantly hanging off the side, doing feats of daring and stupidity.'
Despite the home's precarious dangling appearance, Bridges described it as being totally 'rational' in the same interview. The USC professor explained: 'It may look precarious, but it's not. From an engineering standpoint, this thing is absolutely rational.'

LYFT BOSS'S LAIR
A spectacular seven-bedroom mansion, on 634 Alma Real Drive now lies in ruins.
Home to Lyft's Chief Financial Officer Elaine Paul, 57, her production company boss husband Darren Seidel, 61, and their three children, the devastated house was once a picture-perfect California home.
Outside was a white picket fence surrounding manicured lawns and ivy covered exterior while inside, the huge house boasted seven bedrooms and a whopping ten bathrooms.
Bought for $1.9million in 2009, the house's value has skyrocketed since then and is now estimated to be worth $9.1million.

TECH TYCOON'S MANSION
The most expensive home in Pacific Palisades - the futuristic hilltop pad owned by tech tycoon Austin Russell - has been reduced to a smoldering shell.
Before the blaze, the striking home had 18 bedrooms and six bathrooms, as well as a 'Nobu-designed chef's kitchen' and its own 20-seater theater.
A temperature-controlled wine cellar occupied the basement, while the roof was retractable 'for stargazing' and the lush gardens were home to a state-of-the-art swimming pool.
Although owned by Luminar Technologies boss Russell, the home was available to rent when the conflagration took hold – for an eye-watering $450,000-per-month.
The house was most recently seen starring in HBO smash-hit Succession where it stole the show as the luxury pad occupied by the Roy siblings.

LAWYER'S COZY COTTAGE
A pretty English-style white wooden cottage, 720 Ocampo Drive was a three-bedroom home that had been occupied by real estate lawyer owner Edward Wachtel since he bought it for $530,000 in 1983.
Now reduced to rubble, the cottage was built in 1948 and sat in manicured gardens enclosed by a white picket fence.
Prior to last week, Ocampo Street was packed with similar properties – most of which suffered a similar fate at the hands of the Palisades Fire.
