Meghan Markle's Suits co-star Patrick J Adams has shared an unseen photo from her days as Rachel Zane on the long-running legal drama.

Adams, who played Mike Ross, posted behind-the-scenes photos of the Suits cast on Instagram on Tuesday, while promoting the latest episode of his podcast with actress Sarah Rafferty

Rafferty played the fan-favourite character Donna Paulsen and currently co-hosts Sidebar with Adams.

In his post, the 43-year-old Canadian-American actor included pictures of Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter, crew members on the sets of Suits, and Meghan, who played his on-screen love interest and paralegal Rachel, on the show.

In his caption, he directed listeners to the latest Sidebar episode titled 'Dirty Little Secrets' that was released on October 29.

He captioned the post: 'Well, @iamsarahgrafferty and I have petitioned to have Tuesday officially renamed Sidebar day.

'Turns out it's complicated and there's a little paperwork but I'll keep the faith.

'Until then, enjoy our newest podcast @suitssidebar episode Dirty Little Secrets where we talk college pizza, clear up some misunderstanding about my towering height and tackle the mystery of why Jessica has no assistant.

'And I may or may not do a spot on William Wallace impression,' Adams finished.

Reacting to his post, fans urged Adams to invite the Duchess of Sussex, who has podcasting experience herself, on to the show.

Meghan, 43, produced one season of her podcast Archetypes with Spotify before her and Harry's lucrative £18 million deal was dramatically pulled last year.

Since parting ways with Spotify, the Duchess has moved Archetypes to female-founded network Lemonada Media that wants to 'make life suck less'.

Excited by the possibility of Meghan, who quit Suits ahead of her marriage to Prince Harry, reuniting with Adams on the podcast, one fan commented: 'Invite Meghan please!'

A similar comment read: 'Y’all need to get Meghan on the podcast'

A third person said they are 'keeping my fingers crossed Meghan comes on' the podcast, while a fourth reacted to the Duchess' departure from the popular NBC show, writing: 'Suits is not the same without Mike and Rachel....'

Earlier this month, Adams revealed Meghan sent him a sweet message, congratulating him on his new podcast, after previously admitting the pair had little contact after the show.

Meghan and Adams played beloved on-screen couple Mike and Rachel on Suits, and their friendship appeared strong when he and his wife were invited to the Sussexes' 2018 royal wedding in Windsor.

But the actor admitted he got a heartwarming note of support from the Duchess, despite them losing touch in recent years.

'She leads a very different life now for obvious and important reasons,' he said while answering fans' questions about his relationship with Meghan on Reddit.

'But upon hearing about the podcast. I got a lovely text, saying how excited she was for us and asking how she could help in anyway.

'So lovely to still have that kind of support and friendship after so many years apart,' Adams concluded.

Sidebar – hosted by Adams and Rafferty, 51 – is 'dedicated to re-watching and breaking down' the hit legal drama, with 'special guests who played a part both in-front of and behind the camera'.

Meghan gave up acting and quit Suits ahead of her royal wedding to Prince Harry in 2018

The couple have since stepped down as senior members of the royal family and relocated to Montecito, California, with their two children, Archie and Lilibet

Asked by Entertainment Weekly if the Duchess would be join them on the Sidebar, Rafferty declared 'everybody's invited'.

She explained: 'Everybody's invited, and everybody has been so supportive. It's amazing.

'I've just been texting one of our directors, Mike Smith, Rachael Harris had some comments on our Instagram Live this morning, cannot wait for Sheila Sazs to be introduced into the show.

'I can't wait to talk to Max Beesley and all the British actors that we had.'

Suits originally aired on USA Network for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019 and saw genius college dropout Mike Ross (Patrick) join a high-profile Manhattan law firm to work with brilliant attorney Harvey Specter (Macht).

The Duchess played Rachel Zane – a paralegal who becomes a formidable attorney and eventually marries Mike.

On his podcast, Adams shared how Meghan was 'perfect' for the role of Rachel and said: 'It was pretty clear that she was gonna get the part from the minute we did the chemistry read.'

Suits was added to Netflix in June last year and quickly attracted viewers with its binge-friendly catalogue of 134 episodes as it skyrocketed to the most streamed show of 2023.

Earlier this year, it was reported that a spin-off series entitled Suits: LA was in the works – four years after the original show that propelled Meghan into the spotlight came to an end.

Adams – who years ago rallied behind Meghan as an 'enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, giving, joyful and supportive member of their television family' when she was accused of 'bullying' royal staff – earlier this year revealed he has had 'zero communication' with his former on-screen love interest.

In February, Adams and Macht confirmed that they haven't kept in touch with the Duchess following the legal drama's streaming success.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter on the set of T-Mobile's Super Bowl commercial, in which the duo feature, the pair were asked: 'Have you spoken to Meghan Markle recently?'

'I have not communicated with her other than seeing her big support for the resurgence, and that has been really nice,' American actor Gabriel, who played Harvey Specter in the series, said.

Patrick added: 'Zero. No, no communication.'

The actor then jokingly pretended he was getting a call, saying: 'Oh, hold on. There she is. Oh, got to go.'
