GB News Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker has warned that Meghan Markle faces a "saturated market" as she launches her new online fashion boutique.

The Duchess of Sussex unveiled her ShopMy page to her 2.6 million Instagram followers this week, featuring a curated collection of luxury and high-street fashion items.

Walker questioned whether the venture would generate enough income for Meghan to "sustain her luxury lifestyle with her million-pound mansion and everything else".

The timing of her online shop launch coincided with the announcement of her new podcast, where she will be "talking to a number of female business owners who have built multi-billion-dollar businesses".

"As you mentioned, this comes off the back of her last podcast, Archetypes, which was released for one season before Spotify prematurely cancelled it.

"This podcast, though, is available on all major platforms or will be when it airs in two weeks' time. But as you point out, the trailer dropped just 24 hours after her new online shop launched on Instagram.

"At the top of that online shop, it says, 'Please note some products may contain commissionable links'."

"That translates as Meghan earning a commission on all the products she is selling.

"Let’s go through some of them here: High-end items like £1,000 sleeveless gowns, £600 sandals, and £200 earrings. These are not cheap products. Retail experts suggest that you earn around 15 per cent commission on all of this. So, 15 per cent of 2.6 million followers on Instagram could potentially make Meghan Markle a lot of money.

"There’s been a lot of content that she's published in the last few months, or focused on her brand during that time.

"In the last 24 hours, she posted a photograph of herself with her two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

"But, of course, it's a very saturated market, isn't it? There are lots of Hollywood celebrities creating all of these brands, so maybe Meghan will make enough money to sustain her luxury lifestyle with her million-pound mansion and everything else. But we'll have to wait and see."

The launch comes as anticipation builds for Meghan's upcoming lifestyle brand, As Ever, a rebrand of her American Riviera Orchard business focused on "beautifully crafted essentials", artisan preserves, and tea.

This is the latest in a series of commercial ventures since Meghan and Prince Harry stepped back from royal duties in January 2020.

The couple, who have a reported private fortune of approximately £34million, have pursued multiple business ventures including book deals, public speaking engagements, and brand partnerships.

Meghan's Netflix series "With Love, Meghan" was recently renewed for a second season despite negative reviews.
