It has been 10 days since Donald Trump announced he would be nominating Army National Guard veteran and former Fox News host Pete Hegseth as his secretary of defense. The choice was the first of several surprising picks from the president-elect, and there has been some chatter on Capitol Hill about whether Hegseth will be able to make it through the Senate confirmation process.
One of the causes for concern is a sexual assault allegation against him dating back to 2017. Charges were never brought against Hegseth, but, on Wednesday, the police report detailing the full scope of the accusations was made public for the first time.
On Friday’s show, Megyn took a deep dive into the report to break down the accuser’s claims, what Hegseth told law enforcement at the time, why charges were not brought, and what it all means for the 44 year old’s chances of becoming the next defense secretary.
The Police Report
Megyn pores over the 2017 police report involving Hegseth and his accuser, the woman’s version of events, Hegseths’s side of the story, how the accuser’s husband factored into the case, and more.
The Accuser
Megyn takes a closer look at the woman who accused Hegseth of sexual assault, the holes in her story, what doesn’t add up about her claims, and more.
The Lack of Charges
