Mental patient escapes from New York hospital, cops warn locals ‘do not approach him’

A mental patient is on the loose after he made a dash for freedom from an Orange County hospital Thursday afternoon and cops warned the public to stay away from the escapee.

Christopher Morgan fled from the Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown around 2:40 p.m., according to the New York State Police. 

Surveillance footage provided by troopers captured Morgan sprinting in the hospital’s hallway during his escape.

He was last seen wearing a long white jacket, police said. 

Authorities warned eagle-eyed locals to stay away from him. 

“If you see Morgan, do not approach him,” cops said.

New York State Police did not say why he was in custody.
