MetaMask and Linea launch a Crypto Holiday Challenge, offering users the chance to have purchases reimbursed by using MetaMask Card. The initiative runs from December 4 to 25 across Europe, UK, and Switzerland.
MetaMask, in collaboration with Linea, has unveiled the Crypto Holiday Challenge, a promotional event encouraging users to utilize the MetaMask Card during their holiday shopping. The initiative, which runs from December 4 to December 25, invites participants from the European Union, UK, and Switzerland to showcase their crypto transactions for a chance to be reimbursed.
How the Challenge Works
The challenge requires users to pay for their holiday purchases using the MetaMask Card, which functions like a debit card on platforms such as Apple Pay or Google Wallet. Participants are encouraged to capture their checkout experiences on video, highlighting the benefits of using the card for crypto transactions. Videos should be shared on social media with the hashtag #CryptoHolidayChallenge.
Each week, the top 100 videos will be selected based on creativity, quality, and engagement, with the creators being reimbursed up to $80 per purchase. Notably, a purchase is not mandatory for participation; users can alternatively submit a creative letter explaining how the MetaMask Card has enhanced their lives.
Expanding Crypto Payments
The MetaMask Card leverages Mastercard's global merchant network, allowing users to spend their crypto at any retailer accepting Mastercard, without needing prior permission. This development marks a significant shift from traditional crypto cards, which often require preloading funds onto a third-party platform.
MetaMask plans to extend the card's availability beyond Europe, with upcoming launches in the United States, Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil. The card aims to provide a seamless crypto payment experience, offering users control over their assets up to the moment of payment.

Participants can enter the challenge multiple times, but can only win once per week. Winners will be announced weekly on MetaMask's official social media channels, and prizes will be distributed in USDC directly to the winners' MetaMask wallet addresses.
