Michael Douglas revealed that Sharon Stone once pleaded, “Please go easy,” while filming their intimate scenes for “Basic Instinct” after his stubble left her with an uncomfortable rash in a sensitive area.

Douglas, who starred opposite Stone in the 1992 erotic thriller, detailed the experience of filming the movie’s steamy scenes with his co-star in his new memoir, “One Helluva Ride.”

The Oscar winner, 82, wrote that he and Stone, 68, had “vowed” not to use body doubles for the explicit scene, which took five days to film, according to the Daily Mail.

“During the scene, Sharon started out wearing a patch over her crotch, a minimal gesture towards modesty,” he said. “But she eventually decided to forgo it, saying, ‘Let’s stop pretending. I’m nude, we all know it. Let’s go.'”

Douglas clarified that he and Stone were never actually intimate while filming the scene.

“I did, however, have to get my face close to some rather delicate areas. At one point, my character was performing oral sex on her, and it had to look real,” he explained.

“After a couple of takes, Sharon said, ‘Please go easy. Your stubble is really scratching me!'”

Douglas then said he took a closer look and saw that her upper thighs were “completely red and chafed,” leaving him feeling “horrible” about what had happened.

The pair’s sizzling on-screen chemistry fueled speculation that Douglas and Stone were romantically involved off-screen when the film hit theaters.

But in his memoir, Douglas set the record straight, revealing that he was actually having an affair with another “Basic Instinct” co-star, Jeanne Tripplehorn.

“The truth is, I fell very hard for Jeanne despite our nearly 20-year age difference,” the “Romancing the Stone” actor wrote. “In fact, I was ready to officially leave my wife for Jeanne. I was crazy about her.”

At the time, Douglas was married to his first wife, Diandra Luker, with whom he shares son Cameron Douglas.

In his memoir, he acknowledged that ending his nearly 20-year marriage and immediately jumping into another serious relationship would have been the “worst thing” for him.

“My relationship with Jeanne lasted through production, then we went our separate ways,” he wrote. “But I will always think of her as an amazing actress and a truly terrific woman that I was very fortunate to spend time with.”

Douglas and Luker, 70, ultimately divorced before he went on to marry Catherine Zeta-Jones, 57, in 2000, while Tripplehorn, 63, married fellow actor Leland Orser, 66, that same year.
