Israel intercepted five missiles fired across the Lebanese border, the IDF said on Saturday morning.

It came after the Israeli army pummeled Beirut in a wave of airstrikes on Friday, the first targeted at killing Hezbollah’s leader Hassan Nasrallah.

The fate of Nasrallah is unclear but Israeli media report growing confidence that he was killed in the massive strike that flattened several high rise buildings.

The Middle East is on tenterhooks over whether the conflict will now spill over into all out war.
