Disgraced former Minnesota state senator Justin Eichorn asked for “naughty pics” from an underage girl who turned out to be an undercover cop, before he was arrested in a sting operation last week, according to a DOJ motion.
The Republican father of four — whose wife filed for divorce from him on Tuesday — also allegedly brought up the age of consent to try to justify the sickening liaison before his arrest in Bloomington, around 10 miles south of Minneapolis, prosecutors said.
Eichorn, 40, allegedly contacted the undercover cop posing as an underage sex worker, and asked for them to send him an explicit picture to prove they were real.
“I’m 17 sry don’t want u 2 b mad,” the undercover cop told Eichorn, according to the motion from the DOJ.
“OK will ya send me a naught pic of you to show me your real [sic]?” Eichorn allegedly replied.
In a further message, he allegedly told the cop, “It’s says age of consent is 16 …… over 18 is in a position of authority over you like a teacher or friends parent [sic],” in an apparent attempt to justify his encounter.
Eichorn resigned as a senator on Thursday ahead of further court documents alleging he lied to federal prosecutors.
In phone calls from jail, Eichorn allegedly called a female associate and asked her to retrieve some items from his apartment.
“Eichorn lied to the Court about his access to firearms; Eichorn apparently orchestrated an effort to retrieve a computer from his St. Paul apartment to deprive investigators of the opportunity to examine it; and Eichorn kept with that computer an iPhone that FBI agents found in a recently ‘factory reset’ condition, suggesting that someone with access to the phone’s accounts attempted to wipe it,” prosecutors said in their motion filed on Sunday in the US District Court for the District of Minnesota.
“When they got me they broke my ring,” Eichorn allegedly said in the recorded phone call. “There should be an extra one there, cause I have the extra one in my bag. It might, it’s either in the bathroom or on the counter by my red bag. If you’re willing to get that for me I would so like to have that if it’s OK.”
The woman allegedly replied, “I will grab whatever you need me to grab,” according to the DOJ motion.
Eichorn — who earlier this month sponsored a Minnesota GOP bill to officially define “Trump derangement syndrome” as a mental illness — saw his prison release blocked on Monday.
He is due to appear in court for a joint preliminary and detention hearing on Wednesday, and will remain in the custody of the US Marshals until then.
