The devastated great-grandma of missing Sophia Cover has issued a desperate plea for the teenager to return home.
“Sophia! This is grandma,” she said in a video posted to Facebook by the missing girl’s heartbroken father.
“I love you. I love you. I love you. It’s time you come home! I want to see you again! I’m waiting for you, Sophia. I love you. I love you. I love you!”

“It’s time you come home! I want to see you again! I’m waiting for you, Sophia. I love you. I love you. I love you!” Cover’s great-grandmother pleaded to the missing girl. Facebook/Roofer RickSurveillance footage showed Cover, 16, walking out of her Florida home around 12:45 a.m. on July 31 in Golden Gate Estates, about 40 miles south of Fort Myers.
Anguished father Richard Cover has begun a search effort for the girl, both online and in the community, hoping for clues into her mysterious disappearance.
“Everybody is looking for you. And, if you’re out there on your own, it’s really easy to come home. You can go to any police officer. You can go to any adult that is safe,” he said.
Cover told The Post he believes his daughter may have been coerced into leaving home and revealed her phone went dark just hours after her overnight disappearance.
He said the teen had no problems and was eager to return to high school, so he doesn’t believe Sophia would have run away.
“That’s why I think that somebody convinced her to leave under the false pretenses,” he said.
The frantic father told ABC affiliate WZVN, “I have buried myself into finding her … going through every social media post we can from even friends, so we can see if there’s a glimpse of anyone.”
Authorities describe Sophia as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 115 pounds, with brown eyes and long brown hair.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at 239-252-9300.
Deputies emphasized that any details regarding her disappearance are essential to bringing her home.
