Infinity Ward have finally given us a proper look at Modern Warfare 4’s Kill Block map, which has tons of classic maps in one.

MW4 was revealed back in May, revealing its October 23 release date, tons of details about the campaign, multiplayer, DMZ mode, and the brand-new Kill Block map

Pretty much all we knew was that it would combine tons of fan-favorite CoD maps in a constantly changing environment. Now, we’ve finally seen exactly how it works and some of the maps in store.

What is Kill Block in MW4?

Kill Block is set in a training facility roughly the same size as Modern Warfare’s Shoot House, and it’s divided into three modular sections – two outer ‘End Slabs’ and a ‘Central Slab’ in the middle.

These sections are always changing, featuring mostly brand-new play spaces, but also featuring locations from some of CoD’s most iconic maps. These three Slabs fit together to form a ‘Combo,’ and there are 500 possible combinations at launch.

The layout changes between matches and Gunfight rounds. For example, it might contain Crash, Highrise, and Killhouse in one game, then have entirely different maps the next.

The maps shown and mentioned so far are:

  • Station (Modern Warfare 2019)
  • Shoot House (Modern Warfare 2019)
  • Killhouse (CoD 4/Modern Warfare 2019)
  • Ambush (CoD 4)
  • Crash (CoD 4)
  • Storage Town (Warzone)
  • Highrise (Modern Warfare 2)
  • Blacksite (Modern Warfare II 2022)
  • Woods
  • Snow Block
  • Cabin
  • ME-Town

While each Slab is self-contained, they come together to create one whole area, with openings and sightlines allowing you to move and shoot between them.

While Kill Block doesn’t feature MW4’s dynamic weather, the Slabs will have weather variants, so it could be clear and sunny one match and snowy the next.

Since you’ll hardly ever play the same combination twice, the four outer walls are always marked by ‘A,’ ‘B,’ ‘C,’ and ‘D’ so you can orient yourself.

Killblock will feature Gunfight 3v3 and 10v10 at launch, and then other multiplayer modes are set to arrive in “future post-launch seasons.”

While you may need to wait until Modern Warfare 4’s full launch or the beta to try Kill Block yourself, those attending Fanatics Fest from July 16-19 will get hands-on.
