A Texas mother has been arrested months after she allegedly left her two-year-old child alone in a house for days to meet a man she matched with on Hinge in another city.
Reese Louise Myers, 25, has been accused of abandoning or endangering a child after cops found her 16-month-old child alone in an apartment in the 600 block of West Hallmark in Killeen on July 28.
Myers had gone away to Alamo City, near San Antonio to visit the unidentified man, cops have said.
Officials from the Killeen Police Department arrived at the scene at around 9 am after calls about the welfare of a child were made.
'Officers were told that a child was hanging out near a broken window and an aggressive dog was trying to attack the child.
'Upon the officers arrival, they observed a child protruding from the window that was repaired with a plexiglass sheeting and cardboard. It was not shattered,' the department said in a statement.
Responding deputies also noted that the child was only wearing a shirt with visible feces on his skin and showing signs of diaper rash.
'Officers conducted a sweep of the apartment and it showed the child was alone, with the exception of two dogs.

'Officers contacted the mother of the child, who advised that she was currently in San Antonio and had been there since the day before,' the statement continued.
According to an affidavit, there were several baby precautions set up around the house - indicating that the accused had intended to leave the child alone without a babysitter.
Cops noticed that doors had been closed off, a baby gate blocking off the kitchen area had been set up and deadbolts were locked on the doors and windows.
But when officials connected with Myers, she claimed that she had contacted a babysitter through Facebook to look after the child.
The claim was soon refuted by the babysitter herself who said she had not been contacted by Myers since December.
She also showed her Facebook messages to the police as proof.
Officers then demanded that she return back to Killeen, but Myers did not comply.
Ultimately, she was taken into custody on November 5 by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office in California.

The affidavit also says that another woman, who claims that Myers lived with her for a month in October 2023, approached cops and said that Myers showed signs of neglect toward the child.
While Myers was living with the woman, she would allegedly leave the house at night and sometimes not return until the next day, documents state.
She also claimed that Myers would tell her that the child would sleep through the night and not wake up.
