A mother has been left fuming after a teacher left a brutal comment on her daughter's homework.

The unnamed mom took to Reddit to share an image of the 'uninspiring' message to her kid.

She posted the snap in the Mildly Infuriating subreddit as she opened up about the upsetting comment.

The mom shared that her 11-year-old daughter - who is an athlete - revealed that one of her 'hopes and dreams' was to be an Olympic gymnast.

However, her teacher responded to her dream by writing underneath: 'Will never happen.'

The mom revealed that she was 'absolutely flabbergasted and angry' when her child showed her the message that was left on her homework.

She questioned whether she should inform the school and escalate the situation.

The post was titled: 'Uninspiring teacher comment.'

She said: 'My 11-year-old daughter's teacher wrote this comment on her homework.

'I'm absolutely flabbergasted and angry. This is after my daughter competed in gymnastic nationals about a month ago.'

The mom then shared an image of her daughter's homework.

It included a section that asked students to list their 'hopes and dreams.'

The 11-year-old wrote, 'To go to the Olympics for gymnastics,' and 'To be a perfect gymnast.'

Under the child's response, the teacher wrote, 'Will never happen, sorry.'

People on the web flooded the comments section and slammed the educator for 'crushing' the child's dreams.

Many social media users urged the mom to escalate the situation, adding that they would be 'livid.'

One person said: 'How is this only mild? I’d be f***ing livid. Teachers aren’t supposed to crush dreams, they’re supposed to encourage them.'

Another user commented: 'You can get a teacher reprimanded for that s**t. Bring this to the principal.

'I’m being so serious. Crushing hopes and dreams is for life to do, not the elementary teacher. This teacher needs a reality check.'

Someone else wrote: 'Time to have a chat with teacher and principal.'

A fourth added: 'Hope the little one grows up to be a world champion gymnast.'
