This is the moment Santa Ana police officers drag a man to the ground and repeatedly punch him during an arrest.

The man being struck by cops is 28-year-old felon Florentino Lopez, who is on probation and subject to search and seizure, according to John Kremer, an attorney representing Lopez, ABC 7 reported.

In the video, Lopez is seen standing hunched over against a police vehicle, not yet handcuffed, when he starts berating the cops before one pulls him to the ground and begins punching him.

A second officer also strikes him.

Kremer claimed his client and a relative were smoking marijuana on their front lawn when a police car drove by. The officers slowed down and motioned for Lopez to approach them in the street.

“They recognized my client. They stopped, and they motioned for him to come to them on the street, which he did. He complied,” Kremer told ABC 7.

The viral video also shows officers exchanging words with Lopez before one he is pulled to the ground.

“Words are spoken back and forth between the two officers and my client, but there was no physical violence or any kind of resisting them,” Kremer argued.

Santa Ana Police Chief Robert Rodriguez told the TV news station, the department is reviewing the officers’ actions.

“Our Department is conducting a thorough review of the incident, including body-worn camera footage, reports, and the circumstances surrounding the arrest,” Rodriguez said in part.

Santa Ana Mayor Valerie Amezcua also told ABC 7 that she would continue looking into the incident.

Lopez has been charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of resisting an officer. Lopez is also accused of walking in the roadway and using marijuana on school or daycare property.

Kremer said he believes the case against Lopez should be thrown out.

Lopez had remained behind bars since Thursday, Oct. 1, before appearing in court Monday, when a judge set his bail at $20,000.

Natalie Garcia, a public information officer for the Santa Ana Police Department told The Post that all available information on Lopez’s arrest is still being reviewed.

“As with all use-of-force incidents, we take these matters seriously and will let the facts guide our review and conclusions,” she said.
