Video footage captured the terrifying moment a notoriously bloodthirsty pit bull terrorized dog walkers in a Los Angeles suburb.

Bryan Garcia and his wife, Shanecia Hernandez, were taking a morning walk in Pomona with their three Yorkies when the pit bull came sprinting at them.

The dog first targeted Hernandez before turning its fury on Garcia.

'The dog just didn't want to stop and just kept going and going,' Garcia told KTLA.

The heart-stopping incident has left the neighborhood on high alert and demanding action, as the pit bull is notorious among locals for its aggressive behavior.

But cops are refusing to act.

Bryan Garcia was left with a bite mark on his hand, but neighbors are worried next time it could be worse

Despite numerous complaints to both police and animal control, authorities have refused to take action.

'They said they couldn't do anything,' Garcia, who suffered a bite on his hand, told KTLA.

The video shows the couple's struggle as they fought to protect themselves and their pets.

Hernandez, who is seen holding one of the couple's dogs in her arms, can be heard yelling for the pit bull's owner.

'What do I do, what do I do?' she recalled thinking, before screaming out.

It wasn't until moments later that the pit bull's owner finally appeared and called the dog back. The owner has a fence that the dog is able to force open, KTLA reported.

Terrified neighbors worry that next time it could be worse.

'Every time I walk down the street, it's scary, very scary,' neighbor Borg Zambrano said.

'This neighborhood is a lot of families. They walk in the afternoons, walk their little dogs, walk with their children,' the neighbor added.

'Next time, it might not just be a little bite and might be a child fighting for their life.'
