A pink-haired 14-year-old girl appeared in court after allegedly stabbing her stepfather to death during an argument.
The unidentified teen was arrested on Monday at her family home in San Antonio, Texas, after police were called to reports of a stabbing.
San Antonio Police officers arrived at the scene on the 300 block of Stutts Drive on the East Side around 6:20 pm and found the girl's stepfather, Ray Allen Hardy Jr., 53, with stab wounds to his neck and face.
The fatal attack occurred after the girl's unnamed mother called her daughter into a room where she and Hardy had a verbal altercation, police said.
It is unclear what the alleged dispute was about.
Hardy was pronounced dead at the scene. The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office said he died from sharp force injuries.
Because the teenager, who was found inside another home on the property, has no family or guardian to be released to, she was detained, KENS 5 reported.
She was taken into custody for charges related to family violence and charged with murder. The San Antonio Police Department said she cooperated with authorities.

Detectives interviewed the daughter who provided information about a disagreement with her father earlier that evening. The disagreement reportedly involved disciplinary action taken by the father,' North Las Vegas Police Lieutenant Ann Taylor said.
'The juvenile made different claims regarding what had occurred that night but ultimately confessed that she had stabbed her father after becoming upset with him.'
Waldie had called police earlier in the day to report his daughter had run away for a second time this month.
Police located the girl and returned her home where she would go on to allegedly kill her father after a fight over her punishment.
The investigation revealed a history of domestic issues and police calls to the family home leading up to the homicide.
On December 7, officers responded to a report of a run away juvenile who was ultimately located and returned home safely.
Later in the month, officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at the apartment where police determined the girl had battered her father causing visible injuries which led to her arrest on December 13.
