Monster Hunter Wilds mod completely bypasses paid feature

A Monster Hunter Wilds modder has made it possible for players to make big changes that normally require them to purchase a specific voucher.

Monster Hunter Wilds offers an impressive amount of options when it comes to character creation. Using sliders, you can change your character’s makeup, hair, complexion, and so much more to help you bring your ideal hunter to life. 

But if you’re anything like me, who loves to change the character’s appearance often – mostly to match fresh new gear, then it’s more than likely you’ve already had the itch to go back to the character editor to tweak a plethora of options further.

The only problem is… It’s not free, as you must purchase an edit voucher priced at $6.99 USD if you want to make some major changes. However, there’s now already a mod that lets you do so for free.

Made by Ridog8 on Nexus Mods, the Unlimited Character and Palico Edits mod truly reflects its name. It does exactly what you expect it to do, allowing you to change your hunter’s and Palico’s appearance whenever you please without having to use edit vouchers.

Players can edit both their character and Palico for free whenever they want, thanks to the mod.

The mod author explained that this mod doesn’t touch edit vouchers for your character and Palico. The way it works is that you can edit your character even though the vouchers are at zero.

To install it, you only need to download the mod and drop the reframework folder into the base game’s install folder. Assuming you’ve successfully installed the mod, the edit option should appear in the character edit screen from the main menu.

While it’s no doubt a useful mod, it’s worth noting that Capcom has previously made it clear that mods count as cheats. There’s also always a possibility that something unwanted can happen, as the game doesn’t officially support mods, so use it at your own risk.
