A freecam view of the entire Monster Hunter Wilds map has some players convinced that Capcom’s hiding DLC locations in plain sight.
Monster Hunter Wilds plays host to an interconnected map comprising five diverse regions, each one inhabited by a variety of monsters.
While players continue to meticulously explore each area, many can’t help but wonder what the future holds in terms of DLC offerings. Capcom has already confirmed two free updates will arrive in April and at some point during Summer 2025.
Players can expect both updates to include a new monster and cosmetic items. However, the developers have not addressed whether future content plans may also introduce previously unseen map locations.
MH Wilds freecam view reveals unexplored locales
Reddit user Tacumoto noticed that certain locations on Wilds maps provides a view of the other regions.
Curiosity piqued, the player said they “started freecaming around” and discovered “there is actually a massive landmass that is basically the entire continent, and all the maps are here, all visible, all at once.”
With this view, it’s now abundantly clear why seamless travel between the Oilwell Basin and Iceshard Cliffs is off-limits. They’re too far apart. Now fans are wondering if the landmass’ empty spaces will house future DLC expansions.

One person said the heavily-cratered area on the bottom left of the map “for sure looks like an expansion.”
Someone else said of the cratered region, “It really is perfect grounds for a DLC, all I’m sayin.”
Another user in the thread commented, “Wonder if DLC map will be the spot I between the basin and cliffs.”
Again, it’s worth noting that Monster Hunter Wilds developers have only announced the two aforementioned free updates, neither of which will feature new map locales – as far as anyone knows. But the meaty Iceborne expansion that released over a year after MH World gives fans hope that the team has bigger plans in store.
Capcom will share more information about the forthcoming updates in a March 25 livestream hosted by producer Ryozo Tsujimoto.
