Michael Palin canceled his upcoming book tour in the UK after he suffered broken ribs from falling in the bathroom.

The “Monty Python” star, 83, took to Instagram Tuesday to share the devastating news that will prevent him from appearing at any events for his new book, “Michael Palin in the Philippines,” for “the next few months.”

“My accident was quite unsensational, a slip in the family bathroom where I’ve walked for 58 years,” he wrote.

“I fell heavily on my left side resulting in three fractured ribs and a minor pelvic fracture,” Palin added.

“The recovery of bone fractures takes a long time especially when you’re 83.”

The “A Fish Called Wanda” actor then made light of the situation, saying it was a “comedy fall with no audience there to see it.”

“I shall stick to fish slapping dances from now on,” he quipped.

“Sincere apologies to everyone who has already put in a lot of work on the tour. Id also like to say a huge thanks to the NHS for their incredible care,” Palin concluded.

“Michael Palin in the Philippines” sees Palin exploring the Southeast Asian country, which is a popular tourist destination but also a place of “extreme poverty for many.”

“In the course of Michael’s epic journey he gets to see the Philippines archipelago in all its beauty, variety and many paradoxes,” a synopsis reads.

Palin’s new book, “Michael Palin in the Philippines,” is available for pre-order.

“At one moment he’s exploring the rubbish dump topped with houses that is Manila’s Smokey Mountain; the next he is wandering along the idyllic sandy beaches of Cadlao Island,” it adds.

During his journey, Palin encounters some of the “warmest and friendliest people” ever.

“Michael Palin in the Philippines” is now available for pre-order.
