MTG Exposes Program DOGE Cut at “Corrupt Slush Fund” for “Radical Democrat Causes”

Announcing a major win for President Donald Trump’s America First agenda, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) took to social media to celebrate the U.S. State Department’s decision to dissolve the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Greene highlighted her leading role on the House Oversight Committee’s DOGE subcommittee and advocated for legislation to dismantle USAID and distribute their budget domestically.

For context, Donald Trump has emphasized domestic priorities and pushed government efficiency via the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). One of DOGE’s first targets was USAID, where investigators found rampant waste, fraud, and mismanagement.

Making her triumphant celebration, MTG blasted USAID and took responsibility for gutting the corrupt program on March 28, 2025. She said, “One of the first things I wanted my @DOGECommittee to focus on was USAID. I led our hearing to expose how USAID has funneled billions of your taxpayer dollars into radical Democrat causes around the globe.”

Continuing the post, she advocated for legislation to defund USAID permanently. She added, “The State Department’s move to dissolve this corrupt slush fund is a major win for America First. Now, we must pass my bill to permanently dismantle USAID and ensure your hard-earned money is spent here at home.”

Supporting her arguments, her post linked to footage of a House hearing where Greene spoke to USAID insider Max Primorac. She began by asking the whistleblower about the previous administration. Greene began, “Samantha Power, Biden’s USAID administrator, openly spoke about her agency’s efforts to promote democracy around the world. In your estimation, Mr. Primorac, is that what she was doing? …What was USAID doing during the Biden administration?

Responding, the principled Primorac pulled from his deep faith to answer the Congresswoman. He replied, “Let me cite the Holy Father, Pope Francis, who accused USAID and other donors of promoting ideological colonization, pushing a radical ideology onto the developing world that is anti-family and anti-life.”

Pivoting back, MTG asked if USAID had compromised elections in foreign nations. She said, “It has been asserted that USAID spent 10s of millions of American taxpayer dollars to promote propaganda in Brazil in the lead-up to the Bolsonaro-Lula election in 2022 …Mr. Primorac, can you offer any insight into these allegations, or at least comment on whether the U.S. should play a role in toppling democratic processes around the world?”

Blaming Biden, he explained that USAID was used to promote Democratic policy abroad. He answered, “I think what we saw was USAID weaponized by the Biden administration and by Samantha Power to attack any party that was conservative. It just didn’t happen in Brazil. It also happened, for instance, in very pro-American Poland and Hungary as well.”

Digging in deeper, Rep. Greene asked the USAID insider if the agency has put Americans at risk. She continued, “Reports…estimate that USAID funneled over $15 billion into Syria over a decade, covertly funding opposition groups, mercenaries, and anti-government networks under the cover of humanitarian aid… Mr. Primorac, do these kinds of activities carried out by an American agency make Americans safer at home, or do they risk embroiling us in more deadly and costly foreign conflicts?”

Concluding, Primorac explained that this USAID was not only a waste of money, but also dangerous to American interests. He said, “When the agency is doing it according to the way in which represents American national security interests, it’s correct, but when it’s abused for political purposes, ideological umbrage and sponsoring Islamism, which is inherently anti American, it is the worst exhaustion of American taxpayer money that can be thought of, especially when it leads to the loss and danger to American lives.”
