A punk fan in California tragically died from a brain injury while attending a Vans Warped Tour concert as his heartbroken family scrambles for answers.
David Granado Jr, 30, suffered a traumatic brain injury after jumping into a mosh pit at the music festival on the afternoon of Sunday, July 26.
Granado Jr had been with his girlfriend, his brother and some friends when tragedy struck and he suffered a 'traumatic and ultimately fatal brain injury,' according to a GoFundMe.
After the fan was rushed to hospital he underwent 'emergency surgery' in the early hours of Monday morning and was then on life support for 'multiple days.'
According to his mother, Barbara Granado, Granado Jr was pronounced dead on Thursday at 2.10pm. Footage captured Granado Jr swept up in a mosh pit before he was seen suddenly making an exit through the busy crowd.
The Long Beach Police Department said in a statement that 'preliminary investigation did not indicate any signs of foul play.'
Police said the county medical examiner would determine Granado Jr's official cause of death as the investigation into the incident continues.
Granado Jr's family are said to be attempting to 'piece together the timeline of exactly what happened... in the hours leading up to [him] being transported to the hospital.'

His brother, Alejandro Granado, wrote in a comment on Facebook that Granado Jr was last seen on the fateful day at around 5pm after he had been separated from his friends.
He allegedly walked himself to the medical tent before he was admitted to a local emergency room just after 8pm, according to his brother who wrote that Granado Jr was 'operated on multiple times.'
'We're just trying to find out if he was hit or if he fell from heat exhaustion/dehydration,' Alejandro added.
Video from the event showed busy crowds and mosh pits taking place, as attendees recalled incidents of two other concert goers suffering injuries on the same day.
A man, identified by Alejandro as Granado Jr in a green and orange t-shirt, was seen on the edge of a mosh pit during punk-rock band Bayside's set.
Other footage from fellow concertgoers captured Granado Jr in the middle of the mosh pit without his glasses, appearing to struggle keeping his balance before he was seen pushing his way through the crowd.
A comment underneath one angle claimed Granado Jr had been helping others block the crowd in the mosh pit while a person was being helped off the floor in front of him.
The Warped Tour, a punk, ska and rock festival, returned for its 30th anniversary last year after almost six years since the festivals last full tour.

The events 2026 tour was set with dates in Mexico City, Orlando, Washington DC, Montreal and Long Beach, with two-day passes starting at around $150.
Musical artists featured in the 2026 lineup included 3OH!3, All Time Low, Bowling for Soup, Jimmy Eat World and Mayday Parade.
The Daily Mail reached out to the Vans Warped Tour for comment.
