There is a new Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and while they’re unconnected to the romantic/espionage film and television franchise, the couple does include a pair of prominent media figures.
Kenny Smith, the NBA champion and co-host of the long-running Inside the NBA, has wed Croatian influencer Tia Jurcic at a ceremony in Newport Beach, California, the couple announced Tuesday.
Jurcic, 41, is pictured in a strapless white gown decorated with bows, while the Queens-born 61-year-old groom wore a white tuxedo blazer with black pants.
Video from the ceremony showed the two families dancing together to music from both the United States and Croatia.
‘If you’re from America, we’re going to take you to Croatia right now,’ Smith told the crowd as some music from the bride’s homeland began to play.
Conspicuously absent from the clips are Smith’s Inside the NBA co-hosts: 7ft 1in Shaquille O’Neal, 6ft 6in Charles Barkley and anchor, Ernie Johnson. The Daily Mail has sought comment from O’Neal and Barkley representatives to see if they attended the event.

Both Smith, 61, and Jurcic, 41, were previously married and have kids from those relationships
The quartet of friends and co-hosts are coming off their first NBA season on ESPN. TNT Sports, which continues to produce the beloved studio show, has lost domestic NBA rights in the latest media deal, but continues to license Inside the NBA to ESPN.
For Smith, the outdoor ceremony marked the start of his third marriage. Previously he was with writer/director Dawn Reavis in the 1990s before a 12-year marriage to English model Gwendolyn Osborne that ended in 2018.
The New York Post reports that Jurcic was previously married to former basketball player Chris Warren. Their son, Domenik, is a high school basketball prospect.
Of course, Jurcic is no stranger to basketball after growing up in Croatia, which currently boasts around two dozen NBA players, not including Hall of Famers such as Toni Kukoč, Dino Rađa and the late Dražen Petrović.
Smith obviously has a background in the game, having won a pair of titles alongside Hakeem Olajuwon with the Houston Rockets, including the 1995 championship over Shaq’s Orlando Magic. Smith joined TNT Sports in 1998 and consistently ranks alongside O’Neal and Barkley as one of the most popular TV analysts in sports.
Smith has four children of his own, not including a stepchild from a previous relationship.
