The NBA game between the New Orleans Pelicans and Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night has been postponed due to a rare snowstorm hitting Louisiana.
The historic, 'once-in-a-lifetime' weather bomb has covered the city in snow, with all domestic flights canceled and road travel treacherous.
The Bucks had tried to beat the weather by flying into New Orleans earlier than planned on Monday, but tonight's game has still been postponed.
The city is not used to dealing with such adverse weather conditions and local reports revealed there is minimal snow-clearing equipment on hand.
There was hope that temperatures would rise enough to get the game played on schedule, but they remained in the 30s on Wednesday morning and officials have now made the call to reschedule the game.
The Bucks are scheduled to play in Miami on Thursday, and it is currently unclear when they will be able to leave New Orleans to reach Florida.
The game was due to take place at the Smoothie King Center in downtown New Orleans
It is currently unclear when Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks will be able to leave the city
The Pelicans, meanwhile, are not scheduled to play until Friday night, when they travel to Memphis to face the Grizzlies.
Louis Armstrong International Airport canceled all commercial departures on Wednesday as staff work to clear the runways.
The Pelicans are currently enduring a difficult losing season, sitting 12-32 in the Western Conference standings, while the Bucks are flying high in the east.
Milwaukee holds a 24-17 record to sit behind Cleveland, Boston and New York.
