Netflix fans will soon be able to enjoy a 'demented and unnerving' horror film on the streaming service soon.

The movie Pearl - which is part of Ti West's X film series - premiered back in September 2022.

The horror is a prequel to the March 2022 slasher X, which was then followed by MaXXXine in July last year.

Back in August 2024, it was revealed that Pearl had landed on Netflix in the US and South America.

Now those in the UK will be able to watch it too on the subscription service, according to Metro

The first instalment X follows the story of a actress Mia Goth, who plays a young girl called Maxine and an elderly woman called Pearl.

The movie is the sequel to slasher film X - released in 2022

Actress Mia Goth plays Pearl in the hit blockbuster

The horror is set in 1979 and follows a group who travel out to a farm in the middle of rural Texas to film an adult film.

Things take a turn when their host finds out exactly what they are doing out there...

Pearl is the story of a psychotic girl who wants to escape from living on a farm with her parents.

Mia reprised her role of the protagonist in the blockbuster.

The actress is joined by the likes of David Corenswet, Tandi Wright, Matthew Sunderland and Emma Jenkins-Purro.

Despite being released three years ago, the film has a very high rating of 93 per cent on review site Rotten Tomatoes.

A number of critics shared their thoughts on the movie on the site.

iNews critic Christina Newland said of Pearl: 'This demented, charming, Wizard of Oz-like horror is all the more disturbing because it doesn’t look like a horror movie.'

Pearl has had rave reviews over the years

Meanwhile Observer's Wendy Ide added: 'Goth is riotously entertaining throughout, but two specific scenes, in both of which the camera rests solely on her face for an extended shot, capture the full force of her unnerving talent.’

The Independent's Clarisse Loughrey wrote: ‘Pearl’s torment is believable largely because Goth single-handedly wills it to be.

'Her commitment to every choked cry for attention, to every glassy-eyed departure from reality, is unimpeachable.'

Pearl has been a huge hit with Netflix fans in the US and South America.

Many took to social media to share how impressed they were with it.

One wrote on X: 'Watched Pearl on Netflix and OMG. That was a buildup, love that in a horror film.'

Another added: '#Pearl on Netflix was CRA-ZY. If you like horror watch that immediately.'

'Currently watching the Netflix horror movie called Pearl? It’s good,' a third tweeted.
