New Black Ops 7 & Warzone gun with homing bullets sounds absolutely broken

A new Call of Duty season means new weapons, and Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 4 introduces a brand-new weapon that fires homing rounds, which lock onto your target.

Season 4 arrives on Thursday, June 4, and alongside the return of Fortune’s Keep in Warzone and the classic mode without Omnimovement or wall-jumping in Black Ops 7, six new weapons arrive throughout the first half.

But the one that caught our eye is the Grimhawk Secondary weapon, which has the chance to be completely broken. We’ve seen bouncing bullets, and now, there are homing rounds.

Grimhawk fires bullets that lock onto enemies

This full-auto rifle “fires low-velocity homing rounds that lock onto targets.” Specifically, it has “light homing capabilities,” which means it locks onto enemies who are shooting their weapons.

To balance it, the devs said the low velocity rounds will take some getting used to. They rapidly drop out of the air, so you’ll need to aim high and adjust accordingly. But once the enemy begins firing back or shoots at a teammate, your bullets will head directly for them.

While this already sounds like it could be powerful, the Prestige attachment takes it up another notch. Reaching max weapon level unlocks the Long Barrel, which lets the Grimhawk use its homing rounds in hip-fire. It means you can’t use the homing functionality while ADS, but it’s a worthwhile trade.

Using it at close range means you don’t have to worry about bullet drop, so you can simply hold the trigger and allow your bullets to go directly at your target. Considering it’s a secondary, it should be an excellent weapon to keep for close-range situations.

The Grimhawk special weapon will arrive in Black Ops 7 and Warzone “in-season,” which means it’ll be unlocked in one of the upcoming weekly challenges.
