An unidentified man working at a convenience store in New Orleans shot and killed an armed teenage robber.
Employees of Sam's Meat Market told WWL that two young men walked into the store at around 7.50pm on Tuesday and demanded cash.
Surveillance footage then showed a teenager in a green and yellow camouflage hoodie brandishing a gun at the store clerk, who quickly handed over some money.
The suspect could then be seen putting the cash in his pocket, before he starts rifling through the register - prompting the store clerk to back up with his hands up.
When the teenager is apparently satisfied he had stolen enough money, he could be seen walking up to another suspect in a dark hoodie who was checking out the merchandise.
At that point, the employee stands up and begins firing at the teen in camouflage, causing him to immediately fall to the ground as his friend fled the store.
Police have since identified the boy in camouflage as 16-year-old Cecil Batiz, whom officers say was brought to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to WDSU.
The other suspect was also identified as Teony Juarez, 18, who was wounded in the shooting, but was later arrested and charged for the armed robbery.

Officers noted in an affidavit obtained by Fox 8 Live that as Juarez was leaving the store, he fired his gun at the clerk.
The affidavit also claims that an unidentified female friend helped Juarez get to University Medical Center after the shooting, escorting him to the emergency room entrance before leaving.
Juarez is now charged with armed robbery, armed robbery with use of a firearm, aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities.
He is being held on a $170,000 bond.

Meanwhile, the store clerk has not been charged with any wrongdoing, as District Attorney Jason Williams noted to a local radio station that 'the rules change' when someone thinks their life may be in danger.
'It's painfully obvious to anyone who saw that video what those two people were doing in that store. And that shop owner did not ask for that exchange,' he said. 'That's very clear.
'When somebody puts a gun in your face, they mean malice and have avarice in their heart. And all the rules have changed and you have a right to defend yourself,' the DA added.
