Just two weeks ago, supporters of Donald Trump were being labeled “garbage” by Joe Biden, “Nazis” by Tim Walz, and “fascist sympathizers” by much of the media, but oh how the tides have turned.

Trump received a hero’s welcome at the UFC 309 event in New York City over the weekend where heavyweight champ Jon Jones celebrated his victory by mimicking the president-elect’s now-iconic dance skills, and some of the NFL’s best players displayed similar moves after making big plays on Sunday.

On Monday’s show, Megyn reacted to the very public displays of Trump fandom and how they represent the “greatest brand comeback ever.”

In the Octagon

Trump was back at Madison Square Garden on Saturday for the first time since his rally at the venue in the closing days of the 2024 election to attend UFC 309. The president-elect’s entourage included Dana White, Elon Musk, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, Kid Rock, Donald Trump, Jr., and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA).

He also had a chance to reunite with Joe Rogan, who endorsed him in the waning days of the campaign after their three-hour sit-down together. The two shared an embrace as Trump made his way to his seat, and Rogan remarked that he wished people at home could hear how loud it was inside the arena after Trump’s name was announced.

As for the action in the Octagon, UFC 309’s headline fight saw Stipe Miocic take on Jon Jones for the heavyweight championship. Jones prevailed and celebrated the win with some Trump-inspired moves after thanking the president-elect in his victory speech. He also handed Trump his heavyweight belt.

On the Field

The simple bent-arm boogie Trump performed to songs like “YMCA” on the campaign trail has also become popular on the football field. San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa (who was fined $11,255 for wearing a MAGA hat after a game in violation of the NFL’s uniform policy) celebrated a sack on November 10 with the moves.

On Sunday, Las Vegas Raiders rookie Brock Bowers got in on the action after his touchdown against the Miami Dolphins. When asked about the celebration, Bowers told USA Today that he has “seen everyone do it” and wanted to give it a try. “I watched the UFC fight [Saturday] night and Jon Jones did it,” he said. “I like watching UFC so I saw it, and thought it was cool.”

Asked Brock Bowers about his Trump TD celly: “I’ve seen everyone do it. I watched the UFC fight last night and Jon Jones did it. I like watching UFC so I saw it, and thought it was cool.”

Raiders PR ended his postgame availability after my question.

And Bowers wasn’t alone. USA Today reported that Detroit Lions defenders Za’Darius Smith and Malcolm Rodriguez used the moves to celebrate a stop, while Tennessee Titans players had some fun with it as well. The viral dance has also been popular among college athletes.

‘It’s Cool’

Megyn said it is hard to fathom just how much has changed in a two-week period. “It’s a new era in America… It’s like Trump, MAGA, being a Republican is cool now,” she said. “I mean, it’s the greatest brand comeback ever.”

It is even more remarkable, she added, when you consider how the media and left tried to paint the president-elect. “Think about how the Democrats have been portraying Donald Trump, and now you have these NFL football players openly doing the Trump dance all over the Sunday television,” she explained. “It didn’t work. It was such a disaster. It appealed to and persuaded absolutely no one.”
