Many NFL fans have called for analyst Ryan Clark to be taken off air following his recent comments on Shedeur Sanders.

The Colorado Buffaloes quarterback had been widely speculated to be the No. 1 overall pick in April's NFL Draft.

However, Sanders, the son of Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders, has seen his draft stock drop following the NFL combine.

Many mock drafts now have former Miami quarterback Cam Ward to go with the top pick and many have speculated that Sanders' familial links to Coach Prime have tanked his chances.

However, Clark, who spent 13 seasons in the NFL before coming an analyst, claimed there was another reason leading to Sanders' drop.

'It's about the bravado he carries. It's about the fact that he looks a certain way. It is about the fact that the color of his skin sometimes at that position can be questioned… And I believe Shedeur Sanders is going to have to deal with that until he gets on the field,' Clark said on First Take earlier this week.

Ryan Clark suggested the reason Sheduer Sanders' draft stock had dropped was due to race

"It's not just about him being Deion Sanders' son. It's about the bravado he carries. It's about the fact that he looks a certain way. It is about the fact that the color of his skin sometimes at the position can be questioned." - Ryan Clark on Shedeur Sanders pic.twitter.com/OsvScp47LE

Clark's comments came after NFL insider Josina Anderson reported that an unnamed scout at the combine described the signal caller as 'brash' and 'arrogant' during a meeting with the anonymous team.

However, Clark's comments appeared to offend several on social media with many calling for the former safety to be dismissed from his job with ESPN.

'Everybody had questions about Johnny Manziel's arrogance and attitude before he transitioned to the NFL,' Jason Whitlock stated.

'According to Ryan Clark, if you have any of these questions about Shedeur Sanders, you're racist. Isn't everybody tired of this? The 'RC' on his lapel stands for Race Card, not Ryan Clark.'

'Clark, who only has a career because he calls everything racist @espn, says anyone questioning Shadeur Sanders quarterbacking ability is racist. Newsflash, every QB gets questioned before the draft. All. Of. Them,' Clay Travis added.

'Ryan Clark should be fired!' a third fan stated.

'This is one of the reasons nobody watches @ESPN unless there's a live event. All their hosts do is race bait. How many black millionaires are playing football? Sit down @Realrclark25,' another moaned.

'ESPN and Ryan Clark always playing the race card. I'm so sick of this trash network,' another added, while one chimed in: 'ESPN pays both of these guys way too much if that's the best reporting taking place.'

NFL fans have called for the ESPN analyst to be fired after his comments on Sanders

'Clark should be fired immediately! He's done this over and over again. But, he's on WOKE ESPN, so it'll continue,' another claimed.

Sanders will likely be the quarterback for the Titans, Giants, or Browns next season, as those three teams have the top trio of picks in the NFL Draft.

Failing to be taken as the No. 1 overall pick, Sanders could follow in the footsteps of Jayden Daniels, who was drafted second last year by the Washington Commanders.

In his first NFL season, Daniels led the Commanders to the NFC Championship Game against the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles.
