Finally! The NFL sides with us on something!
When it comes to the “Trump dance” taking over the sports world, the NFL has “no issue” whatsoever with their players taking part in the touchdown celebration.
In Week 10, San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa popped Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield for a sack, and then he chose to celebrate it by doing President-elect Donald Trump’s dance that he’s consistently seen doing at his rallies. The next week, he was joined by several other players: Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, Detroit Lions defensive end Za’Darius Smith and linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez, and Tennessee Titans wide receivers Calvin Ridley and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.
And the NFL has zero problems with it, glorious!
“There’s no issue with a celebratory dance such as what took place [Sunday] or the previous week with the 49ers on Nov. 10,” said NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy to Front Office Sports. “It’s up to the networks to cover them as they see fit.”
The NFL, through a spokesperson, has confirmed that it has “no issue” with players who do the dance that mimics the moves of President-elect Donald Trump.
