NFL star banned for Week 1 of the new season for violating league's personal conduct policy over driving arrest

Cam Taylor-Britt may have just signed with the Indianapolis Colts but he's going to have to wait to play his first NFL game with the team.

On Friday night, the cornerback was handed a one-game suspension without pay for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

Back in January, the 26-year-old agreed to plead guilty to an unclassified no-license charge and reckless driving in Hamilton County Municipal Court while he was with the Cincinnati Bengals. He was immediately sentenced to five days in jail.

Taylor-Britt was arrested for driving without a license after allegedly doing a burnout near the Bengals' Paycor Stadium in downtown Cincinnati.

He then went on to sign a $1.4 million contract with the Colts back in March, where he will reunite with former Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, after spending his first four seasons in the NFL with the Bengals.

The suspension means Taylor-Britt will be suspended for the Colts' opening game of the season against the Baltimore Ravens on September 13. Instead, he is likely to make his debut against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2. 

Taylor-Britt was seemingly issued two sets of tickets last year.

The first of those was issued in June when he allegedly drove a 2022 Dodge Charger recklessly with five occupants in his car in Downtown Cincinnati.

The cornerback was selected as the 60th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and played vital role in team reaching the AFC title game - which they lost to the Chiefs. 

Last season, however, was a major setback for Taylor-Britt after he made just two starts in eight games for the Bengals due to a Lisfranc injury. 

Reflecting on his time in Cincinnati, he recently said: 'I accept everything that's happened. I think everything played out the way it's supposed to. 

'I'm very grateful for everything that happened. The ups and the downs built character and the man I am today.'
