Nigel Farage has claimed that he wants to “hijack” Donald Trump’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) tsar and bring him to the UK “to secure our borders".
The Reform UK leader attended an event in the US and, while there, called for Europe to take a “more sensible view” of the US President’s staff, rather than seeing it as “villainous.”
Mr Farage complimented Tom Homan whilst at the event, Mr Trump’s advisor on Ice.
At the event, in which Mr Homan was in attendance, the Reform UK leader said: “I’ve got terrible news for you. We’re hijacking Tom Homan and taking him back with us to secure our borders.”
The tsar, gave a blunt assessment when interviewed by GB News just days ago.
Ben Leo asked: "In the UK we have 200,000 small boat migrants coming on boats, a grim milestone. If that was happening, say in the Gulf of America, you had rubber dinghies coming across, how would you personally deal with it?"
“Turn them around," the top US immigration official responded.
“If they want to claim asylum, there are certain ways you can go about it. Go to an embassy,” he said, adding: “We’re not going to release them in the United States, never to appear in court again.”

“Over the last 11 months, not a single person has been released by the Border Patrol.”
The border Tsar also slammed critics of immigration enforcement, calling claims of “racism” or “inhumane” treatment “such cr*p”.
It comes just days after Reform UK vowed to plug a loophole at the Irish border which is allowing “dangerous” illegal migrants to pour into Britain through Northern Ireland.
The party wants immigration officers to carry out spot checks on buses and trains travelling from the Republic of Ireland into Northern Ireland as part of a major border crackdown.

Transport companies would also be slapped with a £10,000 fine for every passenger found to have entered Northern Ireland illegally.
Reform MP Danny Kruger unveiled the plans at the DUP conference on Saturday, warning that the soft Irish border is being exploited as a “backdoor route into the UK”.
Mr Kruger said: “Illegal and unvetted dangerous criminals, who cross into Northern Ireland are abusing the soft Irish border, using it as a backdoor route into the UK.
“The absence of checkpoints at the border does not remove the requirement to have a right to enter.
“Almost all illegal movement from the Republic into Northern Ireland is by scheduled coach or train, arriving at a handful of terminals.”
Under Reform's proposals, immigration enforcement officers would conduct spot checks at transport hubs including Belfast, Newry, Banbridge and Sprucefield.
However, the party insists the crackdown would not amount to introducing checks at the land border between Northern Ireland and the Republic.
Mr Kruger continued: “We will impose a civil penalty of £10,000 per passenger on any bus or rail operator for each illegal immigrant transported into Northern Ireland.
“This is not a border check, it will be for operators to determine their own approach. The £10,000 fine will fund the deportation of the illegal migrants and further border enforcement.”
