Nintendo has announced free repair services for customers affected by the 2026 Kumamoto earthquake, alongside a 50 million yen (around $340,000 USD) donation to support disaster relief efforts.
The company shared the announcement following the earthquake in Japan’s Kumamoto Prefecture, expressing condolences to everyone affected.
Nintendo confirms free repairs for affected customers
In a statement, Nintendo said it would provide free repairs for its products owned by customers living in areas covered by Japan’s Disaster Relief Act following the earthquake. The offer will remain available until February 1, 2027.
The company also confirmed it is donating 50 million yen through the Japanese Red Cross Society to support relief efforts.
Nintendo said: “We extend our deepest condolences to all those affected by the Kumamoto Earthquake of Reiwa 8.”

It added that it hopes for “a swift recovery” for everyone impacted by the disaster.
Customers seeking repairs for eligible Nintendo products have been directed to a dedicated support page for more information about the free repair program.
Nintendo’s announcement follows a similar pledge from The Pokemon Company, which announced on July 30 that it would donate 100 million yen (around $611,000) to support victims of the Kumamoto earthquake.
The funds were distributed between Kumamoto Prefecture, the Japanese Red Cross Society, and other organizations assisting with emergency relief and reconstruction efforts.
