There’s still more than a month to go before Nintendo releases the next entry in the Fire Emblem series, but fans eager for more information on Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will only have to wait roughly 24 hours. Announced on its bespoke news app, Nintendo will be holding a Fire Emblem Direct on August 4th at 7 a.m. PT.

The Direct showcase is set to last 20 minutes and will reveal more details about the upcoming game. Fire Emblem social media accounts have been drip-feeding information on characters, their classes, and their motivations, so expect more of that, potentially along with greater details about the world. You can check out the direct on Nintendo’s YouTube channel here.
We know quite a lot about Fortune’s Weave already, including the names and backgrounds of the four main characters who participate in the Dagosian Games, each representing their own faction in a detail reminiscent of Three Houses. We also know that Sothis, the goddess whose consciousness awakened in Byleth during the events of Three Houses, plays a major role in Fortune’s Weave, which may indicate some connection between the two games. One thing we haven’t seen yet is the player character, who’s been featured in key art but hasn’t appeared in game footage and who doesn’t yet have a name. Hopefully the Fortune’s Weave direct will tell us more about them.
