Protests broke out in Paris on Wednesday against a gala organised by far-right supporters of Israel, intended to raise funds for the Israeli military and set to feature Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich as a guest.
Smotrich, a staunch advocate of West Bank settlements, ultimately did not attend the event amid growing backlash. Protesters, including groups like BDS France and RAAR, criticised the event for promoting divisive figures and expressed support for a two-state solution. The protests remained largely peaceful, and highlighted deep divisions over Middle Eastern policies.
