MADISON, WI — Local wife Tamara Dotson gently informed her husband this week that he couldn't have any more Lego sets until he finished building the ones he had.
"Now, sweetheart," Dotson explained. "We've been over this. You have boxes of these things piling up downstairs, and we can't buy 'Barad-Dur' until you spend some time on the ones you already have. That seems fair, right?"
Dotson's husband, Gary, said he understood the request but was somewhat disappointed by it. "I know I need to work on what I've got," he said. "But there's also a new Star Wars Hutt Palace Sentry Droid Showdown set I'm dying to get my hands on, and I don't have time to finish the other 16 sets right now. It's not fair."
Gary insisted that he still plans on finishing all the other sets he has, but promised his wife if he gets this new set he'll build it right away.
"That's what you said about all the other little Hutt sets," Tamara said. "And that Starfighter set, and that Clone Trooper one, and that $200 Sandcrawler one I bought him for your birthday. It's just sitting there!"
At publishing time, Gary had not, in fact, built his new set and was instead looking at newer sets to buy online.
