NVIDIA has introduced Nemotron 3.5 Lightning, a new member of its Nemotron 3 AI model family, alongside NeMo Switchyard, an open-source routing library for agentic workflows. These releases aim to enhance the efficiency and customization of AI applications across industries, ranging from cybersecurity to scientific research.

Nemotron 3.5 Lightning is a 30-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts model designed for specialized, high-volume tasks within multi-agent systems. NVIDIA claims the model delivers up to 4x faster output speeds and reduces task completion times by 30% compared to its peers. Organizations can fine-tune the model using NVIDIA’s NeMo tools to adapt it to domain-specific needs, such as code review, legal analysis, or security monitoring. Early adopters like CrowdStrike and Lila Sciences report improvements in accuracy for their specialized applications.

The companion release, NeMo Switchyard, addresses a key operational challenge in AI deployment: routing tasks to the most suitable model within a system of models. This library automates the process, optimizing for metrics like quality, latency, and cost.
