Microsoft is all set to announce a Surface laptop powered by the powerful new Nvidia RTX Spark chip on Wednesday afternoon, but HP may have jumped the gun by revealing the price of its own RTX Spark laptops ahead of time.
According to NotebookCheck, HP posted product listings on its online storefront ahead of the Microsoft event, which is set to start at 1 p.m. ET. These laptops use the RTX Spark chip, making them extra beefy for power users. Per HP's store listings (which have since been removed), the OmniBook X 14 starts at $2,999, and the Omnibook Ultra 16 starts at $3,199.
Those are obviously huge price tags, but they make a tiny bit more sense when you see that the machines include the RTX Spark chip, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of SSD storage.

Still, NotebookCheck noted that the Ultra 16 can go as high as $4,999 with the most powerful variant. That's an astronomical price for a laptop, no matter how powerful it is. We'll see if the Microsoft Surface laptop with the RTX Spark chip, likely to be announced on Wednesday afternoon, is even close to these in price.
