NVIDIA launches Alpamayo 2 Super, an open AI model for autonomous vehicles, enabling scalable, reasoning-driven robotaxi deployment.
NVIDIA has officially launched the Alpamayo 2 Super model, a 32-billion-parameter open AI reasoning framework designed to accelerate the deployment of autonomous vehicles (AVs), including robotaxis. Available for commercial use via an open license, Alpamayo 2 Super aims to provide scalability and transparency in AV development, addressing long-standing challenges in real-time decision-making and safety validation.
The model, part of NVIDIA’s Alpamayo family, builds on NVIDIA Cosmos 3 Super Reasoner and utilizes reinforcement learning to enhance its multitask capabilities. Its release marks a significant step in the AV sector, where handling rare, complex driving scenarios remains a pivotal challenge.
Why Alpamayo 2 Super Matters
Autonomous vehicles must perform reliably in rare, high-risk situations, such as unprotected turns or multi-agent merges at intersections.
