NYC woman dead, man in critical condition after suspected attempted murder-suicide

A woman is dead and a man is in critical condition after a shooting on Staten Island that police are investigating as an attempted murder-suicide, sources tell The Post.

Cops from the NYPD’s 122 Precinct were dispatched to a home in Garth Court on reports of a shooting shortly after 11 a.m. on Thursday and made the grisly discovery, the sources said.

Inside the house, police found a 39-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the torso and a 27-year-old man with a head wound, according to police.

Both were rushed to Staten Island University Hospital, where the woman was pronounced dead, and the man was listed in critical condition, police said.

The victims were not immediately identified, but sources said the two were in a relationship. Police have not revealed what may have prompted the shooting or who fired the shots.
