NYPD warns public to avoid Times Square amid reports of officer-involved shooting

The NYPD urged people to avoid a busy Times Square intersection Monday afternoon as officers investigated an incident amid reports of an officer-involved shooting.

Police warned the public to avoid West 43rd Street and Seventh Avenue and expect delays in the surrounding area.

A witness claimed on social media that a woman was "running around stabbing people." A video posted to social media showed a woman wielding what appeared to be a knife. She appears to approach a group of police officers with the knife and is shot.
