A restaurant guest has gone viral after posting a photo of an Olive Garden breadstick with letters and numbers printed on it.

The restaurant goer and TikTok user posted a photo of the abnormal breadstick on the social media platform. The post has since received over four million views, and the restaurant chain quickly responded to the guest in its comment section.

'We are concerned to see this. Can you please send an email to social@olivegarden.com with your full name, and the location you went to?,' the restaurant wrote.

The TikToker thanked Olive Garden for the response and revealed an update on the breadstick matter in a separate photo this month.

The second image posted on TikTok was an email sent to the guest by Olive Garden Guest Relations.

The TikToker wrote 'Thank You Olive Garden' after the restaurant chain gave them a complimentary $100 gift card.

The breadstick matter occurred one month after the Food Animal Concerns Trust (FACT) gave Olive Garden an 'F' grade for having no publicly available policies regarding antibiotic use in their beef, pork, or turkey supplies.

An Olive Garden guest known discovered letters and numbers printed on a breadstick in November 2024

Various TikTok users were stunned after seeing the first photo posted on November 16, including commenters claiming they worked at Olive Garden.

One commenter claiming to be a previous Olive Garden employee wrote they had never seen numbers or letters printed on a breadstick before.

'I've NEVER seen this before in all the many times I have eaten there at Olive Garden,' another user wrote.

Others thought the letter and number printing was 'funny' and at least three commenters insisted they wanted food from Olive Garden after seeing the picture.

Several TikTokers claimed the letters and numbers were on the breadstick partially because they come frozen.

'My relative works in an Olive Garden Kitchen. The bread comes frozen in labeled bags and when thawed ink can remain. They should have inspected it,' a TikToker wrote.

Others praised Olive Garden for its actions after the restaurant guest made the initial complaint.

'I've worked for Olive Garden for three years and they never disappoint anyone and they have high standards for their customers and the restaurants and I recommend them to everyone,' a TikToker wrote.

The restaurant guest posted a photo of the Olive Garden breadstick on TikTok and it has since received over four million views

The TikToker's incident was not the only time mayhem erupted from an Olive Garden breadstick.

A Reddit user shared a photo of an Olive Garden breadstick with letters and numbers printed on it in a 2012 post.

Nearly 2,000 Reddit users reacted to the image, and almost 800 commented on the post.

Despite the breadstick's unexpected appearance, Reddit users claimed it was still safe to eat.

'It's safe to eat. I used to work at an olive garden as a cook, did appetizers and bread sticks on slow nights,' a Reddit user wrote.

'They probably left the sticks on the plastic bag they come in, or the bag was inside out. Not a big deal.'

Another commenter wrote: 'I used to work at Olive Garden, and this would happen all the time.'

'The breadsticks come frozen in bags that have numbers printed on them and a lot of the time the ink would rub off onto the bread and make black marks and sometimes even full markings like this. The person toasting and buttering the breadsticks didn't catch it or was too lazy and didn't care,' they added.

Several social media users who commented on the TikTok posts claimed they currently or previously worked at an Olive Garden

Breadsticks are one of Olive Garden's most popular menu items and customers could enjoy the restaurant chain's 'bottomless breadsticks' promotion.

Olive Garden has also used breadsticks to celebrate holidays and even offered a 'Valentine's Day breadstick bouquet' in 2020.

The restaurant chain's breadsticks usually cost $4.49 for a half dozen and $6.99 for a dozen, not including tax.

The vegan breadsticks can be ordered baked or unbaked and come with a vegan marinara sauce.

Other sauces Olive Garden fans can get with their breadsticks are alfredo and five cheese marinara.

Daily Mail has reached out to Olive Garden for comment regarding the viral breadstick served to one of its restaurant guests.
